Anna was born on July 25 1775 and died February 25 1864. She married William Henry Harrison ( the 9th president of America who also died one month after he got in office so basically he got a one month term). Her children were John Scott Harrison, Anna Tuthill Harrison, James Harrison, Elizabeth Harrison, William Henry Harrison,Jr, Lucy Harrison, Benjamin Harrison and John Cleves Harrison.

Dolley Payne Todd Madison

Today I will post about the 4th first lady of America. Dolley Payne Todd Madison.
On May 20th 1768, A girl, Dolly Payne, was born to Mary Coles Payne and John Payne,Jr. In January 1790, Dolley Payne had married John Todd. They very quickly had two sons, named John Payne and William Temple. Born July 4th 1793. In August 1793 a yellow fever broke out all around killing thousands of people including Dolley's husband, her three month old son William Temple, and her husband's parents. In 1794, Aaron Burr introuduced Dolley Madison to James Madison. Madison, who was 43 years old, was 17 years her senior. In August, Dolley accepted James' marriage proposal. They married on September 15,1794. In 1812, the year that war broke out with Great Britian, Madison was re-elected. As the British army started to near Washington, and staff of the White House prepared to flee, Dolley ordered a Stuart painting, a copy of the Lansdowne portrait, removed. In June 1836, James died and in 1849 Dolley died.

Today I will post about the third first lady of America. Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson.

Today we will talk about the famous 2nd first lady named Abigail Adams.
On November 26th 1744 a baby girl was born to William and Elizabeth Smith at North Parish Congregational Church located in Weymouth,Massachusetts. Her mothers side of the family was the Quincy Family, who was a well-know political family in the colony of Massachusetts. Abigail did not have any education, and therefore Abigail's mother schooled Abigail and her sisters Mary and Elizabeth, at home.Due to the fact they were third cousins, Abigail Smith and John Adams had known each other since they were young children. In there of 1762, John Adams accompanied his friend Richard Cranch, to the Smith's household. Richard was engaged to the older sister of Abigail,Mary,. John, who was quickly attracted to the 17 year old girl who surprised him that she knew so much about poetry,politics, and more due t the fact she read so much.
The couple married on October 25th 1764 at the Smith home. The new couple settled to their new home in Braintree, Massachusetts. They later moved to Boston. In 1765 their first child was born, a girl, named Abigail, they nicknamed her " Nabby". In 1767 their 2nd child was born, a boy, John Quincy Adams, who would one day be the 6th president of America. In 1768, their third child was born, a girl, Grace Susanna,who died at the age of two, In 1770, their 4th child was born, a boy, Charles, In 1772, their 5th child was born, another boy, Thomas, and last in 1777 their 6th child Elizabeth was stillborn.
And finally on October 28th 1818 of typhoid fever, Abigail died. Her last words were " Do not grieve, my friend, my dearest friend, I am ready to go. And John, it will not be long.

Today we will be posting about our very first First Lady of America. Her name is Martha Washington. We are going to talk about basically her life and facts about her.
Martha Dandridge Custis Washington was born on June 2nd 1731 to John and Frances Dandridge on her parents plantation named Chestnut Grove inside the British Colony. She was the eldest daughter of John Dandridge. On the day of May 15th 1750 at the age of 18 she married Daniel Parke Custis, a wealthy planter who was two decades her senior. They lived on White House plantation on the south shore of Pamunkey River. She had 4 children with Daniel, named Daniel who had died at the age of three,Frances who died at age four,John who died at age 7,and Martha who died at 17. Then in 1757 the death of Daniel Parke Custis due to a heart attack, left age 25 Martha Dandrige Custis a widow. Martha Dandridge Custis age 27 and George Washington age 27 married on January 6th 1759 at the White House.
